Is it possible to cap a sprinkler head that is aimed at a tree trunk and causing the tree to fail?
If so, what precautions need to be taken to avoid the system freezing and cracking during the winter?
As I live in a condo complex, the system is extensive.

We suggest you contact Landscape Ontario, see link below. This landscape trades association will be able to provide you with names of reputable irrigation specialist companies in your area. These companies should be able to assist you with your sprinkler system – either capping off or moving the offending sprinkler head and also winterizing appropriately so as not to cause damage to the different circuits that make up the system.
